Muslims in North Cyprus, alongside the Muslims all around the world, are set to celebrate the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr today until Sunday, marking the end of 30 days of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
Eide al-Fitr or Ramadan Bayram in English began this morning with morning prayers at 6.16am.
President Mustafa Akıncı and his wife Meral Akıncı will receive well wishers at the presidential palace this morning.
The central state prison will be open for visits during the three day Ramadan Bayram holiday between 9am and 4:30 pm.
Meanwhile, the Police and municipalities are also taking precautionary measures so citizens can celebrate the holiday comfortably.
