UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide, will return to Cyprus on Thursday to meet with the two community leaders. Eide is preparing the common document ahead of the new Geneva conference scheduled for June 28.
The UN envoy will meet with President Mustafa Akıncı and the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Nicos Anastasiades to record their proposals for the common document.
Eide has been in constant contact with New York, Brussels and the guarantor powers (Turkey, Greece and the UK) focusing on the issue of security and guarantees and preparations for the Conference on Cyprus.
He is expected to travel to Greece following his contacts on the island and is scheduled to meet with the Greek Foreign Minister Nicos Kotzias on June 20.
