Erdogan meets Ban Ki-moon at G-20 Summit

Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan had a private side-meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the G-20 Summit in St. Petersburg earlier today.

A press statement was issued saying that they had discussed the latest developments in Syria and the international community’s response. The Secretary-General briefed the prime minister on the UN chemical weapons investigation.

On the issue of Cyprus, Ban welcomed Turkey’s continued commitment to achieving a mutually acceptable and lasting solution and encouraged Turkey to continue to play a positive role in support of this process.
