In a statement on his personal social media account, Erhürman said, “Due to mismanagement and signing agreements that I doubt you even read, financing costs keep rising. The lack of necessary maintenance and investment lowers efficiency, making consumers pay the price through both money and power outages“.
The full statement reads as follows:
“I am not speaking off the cuff! I base my remarks on conversations with all relevant parties, both internal and external.
“You are emitting black smoke and poisoning both people and nature because you fail to procure fuel on time and resort to burning the remnants. Moreover, you neglect timely maintenance and repairs.
“Additionally, your mismanagement and dubious agreements lead to continuously rising financing costs. The lack of necessary maintenance and investment lowers efficiency, making consumers pay the price through both money and power outages.
“Our issue is not with the appointed KIB-TEK management. Where are those with political responsibility? While the people suffer from poisoning, exploitation, and power cuts, you don’t even bother to explain the situation, nor do you meet with those who seek to discuss the issues.
“I am not writing this because we expect something from you. We do not expect the impossible. I want you to know that the people are aware of far more than what is written here.
“And understand this: The people are not helpless! It is entirely feasible to invest in KIB-TEK, to ensure regular maintenance and fuel procurement, to make the institution autonomous, and to manage it with professionals and experts. We will make it happen“.
Three days ago, Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok issued a statement regarding the ongoing issue of harmful emissions from the Teknecik Power Plant, stressing that action to solve this problem was long overdue.
