Eroğlu and Anastasiades fly to New York in September

Turkish Cypriot President Derviş Eroğlu and Greek Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades are going to New York in September when the UN General Assembly convenes, Greek Cypriot daily ‘Phileftheros’ reports.

According to the newspaper both presidents will be having separate meetings at different times.

‘Phileftheros’ also wrote that the appointment of Norwegian Espen Barth Eide as the new UN envoy to Cyprus also increases the significance of upcoming New York contacts for both leaders.

President Eroglu met with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York in April to discuss the progress of the Cyprus talks which resumed on 11th February, this year.
