US Vice-President Joe Biden is expected to meet the presidents of both Cypriot communities when he arrives in Cyprus on 21st May.
President Eroglu has said that the Turkish Cypriots expect Biden’s visit to increase the momentum of the Cyprus negotiations, ‘Kibris Postasi’ reports.
Eroglu said that Biden intends to meet with both presidents during two separate dinner meetings on the same evening.
President Eroglu again emphasised the need to achieve a solution to the Cyprus problem within a year.
“Even though Ukraine, Crimea and Russia are the top agenda topics of international politics and Cyprus seems to be a minor issue compared to those, it is evident that the international community thinks that the time for the Cyprus solution has arrived,” he said.
