Eroğlu evaluates meeting with PM Erdoğan

Turkish Cypriot President Derviş Eroğlu spoke about his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his one-day visit to Istanbul on Saturday to BRTK.

Eroğlu said that he had informed Erdoğan about the negotiation process during the meeting. Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoğlu was also present. Noting that they haven’t met with Erdoğan to discuss the Cyprus negotiations Eroğlu said “This meeting was necessary as we haven’t met with the [Turkish] Prime Minister for some time. It is important to convey the pace of the negotiations and the positions of leaders to the Prime Minister in an honest dialogue.”

Eroğlu also said that the Greek Cypriots have major expectations regarding Varosha and that it was important that he found the opportunity to evaluate all these issues with Erdoğan.
