Eroglu frustrated with South moving the goals posts

President Dervish Eroglu speaking at a press conference yesterday, has expressed his frustration at the painfully slow process of re-starting the Cyprus negotiations.

He pointed out that even the pre–talks joint memorandum insisted on by the Greek Cypriots was nowhere near completion. The main reason for this was that the other side kept on adding clauses. He personally felt that the joint memorandum was not required and that he was keen to start the talks without pre–conditions.

He also announced that he had no knowledge of the Cyprus plan that the Greek Cypriots claim has been secretly prepared by the UN.

Eroglu concluded by saying that Anastasiades was playing for time because of internal political problems.
