President Dervis Eroglu appears most likely to win in the upcoming presidential elections, followed by Sibel Siber, Mustafa Akinci and Kudret Ozersay, a GAU survey shows, ‘Kibris Postasi’ reports.
If they went to the polls today, 46% said they would vote for Eroglu, 30% would vote for Siber, 17% for Akinci and 7% for Ozersay.
15.5% of the people said they would not be voting in the presidential elections. The results also suggested that 40% of the people said no to a presidential system, while around 30% remained undecided.
The survey released yesterday, by Kyrenia American University (GAU) revealed that more than seven out of ten of the 695 people polled did not expect a solution to the Cyprus problem in 2015, while 49.6 % blamed the Greek Cypriots for this outcome.
Nearly half believe that neither hydrocarbon finds nor water from Turkey will help solve the Cyprus problem.
The respondents were mostly concerned about finding a solution to the problem, health, social insurance and unemployment.
The survey also showed that the army is the most trusted body in the North, followed by the police and the judicial system.
