Ewa Isabella Künzel (49) was brought to the Nicosia Greek Cypriot High Criminal Court in September and her trial was covered in the Greek Cypriot press yesterday.
Greek Cypriot daily ‘Haravgi’ and other newspapers reported that the German estate agent accused of mediating the sale of Greek Cypriot properties rejected all 44 charges against her during the trial at the Greek Cypriot High Criminal Court yesterday.
The newspaper reported that the High Criminal Court decided that the next hearing would be held on December 18, and that the court also decided that the German estate agent would remain in custody until the case was heard.
According to the report, Künzel’s lawyer, Sotiris Argiru, brought up the issue of a fair trial at the end of the hearing, claiming that the names of his client and the witness who has not yet testified in court were leaked to the press.
Argiru stated that he would file the necessary complaints on this matter and also requested that his client, who had received threats, be protected in prison.
Chief Justice Nikolas Yeorgiadis urged Αrgiru to take the necessary measures prescribed by law on the matter.
