The Turkish Cypriot side has showed and will continue to show, on all platforms, its will towards finding a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem, Tufan Erhurman, chairman of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has said.
In a post on social media, Erhurman wrote that Turkish Cypriot deputies were undertaking initiatives with the political party groups at the European Parliament regarding the EU’s Direct Trade Regulation with the Turkish Cypriots.
Erhurman noted that a number of Greek Cypriot political party leaders were attempting to have the regulation removed from the agenda.
On social media he wrote, “In conditions, however, of not being able to reach a comprehensive solution in spite of this will, no one can expect the limitations on the Turkish Cypriots’ economic activities to remain as they are.
“The competent organs of the EU should produce a decision starting from these realities and our deputies will continue exerting an intensive effort to ensure this”.
