Following the report that three suspects had been arrested in connection with the recent spate of shootings in Famagusta, the court ordered that they be held for a further seven days yesterday, while police investigations continue.
There was a major police presence around Famagusta criminal court yesterday as hearings started.
All three accused, Ahmet Nezir, Hasan Caglayan and Firat Ozkan have said that they are innocent of the charges of possession of firearms and discharging firearms. They were initially arrested in a car in Famagusta on February 13th.
