A new committee has been set up by the interim government to focus on the environmental clean-up of Famagusta port and the surrounding areas.
The committee consists of senior figures from the Ministries of Economics, Environment, Planning and Tourism.
It has been charged by Prime Minister Sibel Siber to come up with a report identifying environmental issues in the area as well as recommendations on how to deal with them.
