The family of 25-year-old Sıtkı Akargöl, a resident of Yeşilyurt village, is seeking help in finding him, Kibris Postasi reports.
Sıtkı set sail from Kumyalı on May 10, 2024, and hasn’t been heard from since. Through Gadara Media, the family is reaching out to authorities, urging them to intensify search efforts.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the current pace of search and rescue operations, the family insists that more needs to be done. They’ve been informed that search activities, primarily conducted by boats along the coastline, are insufficient. As a result, they’re calling for the involvement of helicopters to aid in the search.
Additionally, the family is concerned about the lack of functioning cameras in the Kumyalı Fishermen’s Harbour area, despite it being a site of numerous incidents. They’re urging authorities to address this issue promptly.
Sıtkı Akargöl and his companion, Emre Arslan (35), departed from Kumyalı Fishermen’s Harbour around 3pm last Friday on a boat named ‘Yeşilim’ for a fishing trip, but they haven’t returned. Any information regarding their whereabouts would be greatly appreciated.
