A 24-year-old woman lost her life and three others were injured in a traffic accident that happened in Famagusta in the early hours of the morning, Yeniduzen reports.
According to information provided by the Police Press Office, the accident took place at 03:55 on İsmet İnönü Boulevard in Famagusta. Yağmur Öztemur (30), who was driving with a blood alcohol level of 149 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, drifted into the opposite lane due to carelessness and collided with the right front side of the vehicle driven by Hamdin Göktürk (44).
As a result of the impact, the vehicle driven by Hamdin Göktürk was thrown off course, first hitting the curb stones and then crashing into a tree on the sidewalk, coming to a stop. Sude Öztemur, a resident of Famagusta who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Yağmur Öztemur, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver Yağmur Öztemur, Koray Ulema (45), who was a passenger in the same vehicle, and Jamshid Dinpanah (50), who was a passenger in the other vehicle, were injured and taken to Famagusta State Hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
