The fire that broke out in the southern part of Bağlıköy in the Lefke region has been extinguished, BRTK reports. Cooling efforts are ongoing after the fire, which started at noon on Saturday and was tackled from the air.
According to the Police Press Officer, the fire burned an area of around 12 acres, destroying dry grass, maquis, and trees.
The Civil Defence Organisation, along with other stakeholder institutions, intervened in the fire that started in the Bağlıköy region around midday today.
Civil Defence teams responded swiftly to the rapidly spreading fire with 16 personnel, a water tanker, two fire first-response vehicles, another water tanker, a personnel vehicle, and four command vehicles.
