A sudden downpour of rain on Tuesday afternoon caused flooding in some parts of Famagusta. In addition, there was a hail storm which threw down hail stones the size of walnuts, causing pedestrians to run for cover.
Motorists who were struggling to drive through the water were forced to pull over and wait it out.
The emergency services were called out to help defend homes and shops against the flooding.
