Around 300 students were trapped in Levent College Ortaköy yesterday after a nearby stream burst its banks, BRT reports.
The students had to wait for hours for the civil defence teams to rescue them as water pouring into the building hampered the operation.
Heavy rains caused havoc all over the capital leading to road closures and leaving cars underwater and buildings flooded.
Speaker of the House, Sibel Siber said that a more serious effort was needed to improve the country’s infrastructure.
