Four people, two Iraqis and two Syrians, were arrested on Sunday at Paphos airport for illegal entry and criminal impersonation, ‘Cyprus Mail’ reports.
Police became suspicious of the four people, two Syrian men aged 18 and 20, and two 29-year-old Iraqis, a man and a woman, when at passport control they presented Italian ID cards.
After questioning them, the four, who said they wanted to travel to the UK, admitted they had entered the island via North Cyprus, having bought the fake IDs for 3,000 euros in Turkey.
