Fruit exports going well despite embargoes

Chairman of the Cypruvex Company Ltd.Ugur Kemal Saygili, has said that for the past 15 years, the fruit and vegetable company has exported oranges to the UK and the Netherlands and said that if the products are of high quality, the embargoes have no influence.

Saygili said also that business has gone well due to the company’s good cooperation with the administration board and added that they will have sold all their produce this year.

Noting that they had experienced difficulties in finding markets due to the deterioration of ties between Turkey and Russia, Saygili explained that their harvest was concentrated mainly on grapefruit production. He added also that they had exported 25 thousand tons of mandarins to Iraq and other Arab countries while on the other hand he added that they have sent King mandarins and Valencia oranges to the Netherlands, the UK, Spain and Switzerland.

Saygili stressed also that their goal is to increase export of their produce to Europe to 40% of their total exports. He explained that in order to be able to sell their products in the European markets they need a global export permit document. He said that if their produce is of high quality, they will be able to export it worldwide.
