Fuel prices have been reduced by between 20 and 30 kuruş.
Per litre, 95 octane fuel is down from 5.81 to 5.61TL. 98 octane down from 6.01 to 5.71TL. Euro Diesel is down from 5.76 to 5.55TL. Kerosene down from 5.59 to 5.46 TL.
The new prices came into effect at midday on Wednesday.
Commenting on the price reductions, Prime Minister Tufan Erhurman said that the government was trying to help protect the TRNC economy against the effects of the weakened Turkish Lira. To this end, a voluntary discount campaign initiated by the Chamber of Commerce will be supported by the government, he said.
The prime minister also noted that inspections in supermarkets against unfair price increases will continue.
