President Mustafa Akinci, in his message on Press Day, 11th July, argued that sometimes “instant reporting” of the negotiations may not be accurate, noting that “it is obvious that from time to time, distorted news reports in the Greek Cypriot media create tension in public opinion”.
Akinci added: “However, we are still abide by our commitments and continue our path without deviating from our directions. Of course, it does not mean that the community will remain uniformed”. He further said that they will continue to do what is necessary in order to keep the public correctly informed about the negotiations.
