Ersin Tatar MP for the National Unity Party (UBP) has called on President Mustafa Akinci to bring the issue of Greek Cypriot properties in the TRNC to the negotiating table. Reportedly, South Cyprus has submitted a proposal to the Council of Europe regarding these properties.
The proposal, Tatar states, is that all sales of such properties be halted, no further construction be made on what is deemed to be Greek Cypriot land and there should be no advertising abroad in relation to these activities.
Tatar said that this kind of demand contravenes the spirit of the on-going Cyprus negotiations and as such, should be discussed by the two community leaders.
