The 53rd Grape festival began in the village of Mehmetcik yesterday. The festival will last for ten days.
President Eroglu, attending the opening ceremony, said that the festival helped publicise the TRNC to the world and allowed its citizens to gather and celebrate.
The festival includes the sale of grape products and musical entertainment by folk groups.
