US Secretary of State, John Kerry has invited Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Kasoulidis to the United States on May 10th.
This surprising invitation came after John Kerry had contacts with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Greece.
Greek Cypriot newspapers are this morning speculating that this invitation is linked to the recent request by the US ambassador to Cyprus that the South does not allow exploration rights to block 5 and 6 off its southern shores.
The sovereignty over these blocs, along with others, continues to be disputed by Turkey.
