A man originally from Georgia but settled in South Cyprus with his family has been sentenced to 15 months jail for drug trafficking.
Charalambos Kelesides appeared at Nicosia court yesterday where he received his prison sentence.
He had been caught on Febrary 12th at the Lokmaci crossing as he was attempting to enter the TRNC with 110 packets of a Bonzai type drug hidden on him.
Kelesides confessed that he had been given the drugs in South Cyprus by an individual named as Muvaffak Yonluer and was supposed to deliver the drugs back to this individual in the TRNC.
Yonuler has been released on strict bail terms, including confiscation of travel documents, until a trial date is set for him.
