Speaking at the funeral of a missing person whose remains had been identified by DNA testing, the Greek Cypriot Defence Minister Christophoros Fokaides said that the Turkish government needed to co-operate on the issue of missing persons by providing information, ‘Kibris Postasi’ reports.
The defence minister who attended the funeral on Sunday, speaking on behalf of President Anastasiades, said that although the process of exhumation and identification had been speeded up in recent years, there were still cases pending and problems arose because information provided was not accurate.
The Greek Cypriots’ demand is for all missing persons’ remains to be identified and returned to their families for a proper burial, Greek Cypriot Defence Minister Christophoros Fokaides said.
