Greek Cypriots flock to sell land in North

There were 40 new applicants to the Immovable Property Commission (IPC) in June alone.

In addition, the IPC reached amicable agreement on £14 million pounds of compensation with applicants during the month.

These numbers have set records and show a major increase in activity before the IPC closes for a break in August.

The highest compensation paid was £4 million for a hotel in Kyrenia.

There was only one decision to return land to its Greek Cypriot owner. This was a 15 donum strip of land in a village in the Famagusta region.
