A vehicle traveling on the Nicosia-Güzelyurt main road entered the opposite lane at the Serhatköy Underpass around noon on Saturday and collided with an oncoming car. Both drivers sustained injuries, and one of the vehicles overturned onto its side, Yeniduzen reported.
According to information from the Police Press Office, the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 pm. Ayer Erşan (74), who was heading towards Güzelyurt, mistakenly entered the opposite lane at the underpass. His vehicle collided head-on with another car driven by İnal Oduncuoğlu (50), who was traveling in the opposite direction from Güzelyurt to Nicosia.
As a result of the collision, Erşan’s vehicle overturned onto its right side. Both drivers were injured and were taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia for treatment. The police investigation into the accident is ongoing.
