Heavy Rainfall Brings Flooding to Nicosia

Heavy rain and hail has left Nicosia flooded due to a lack of sufficient drainage. The Kyrenia Gate area was particularly badly affected.

Cars had to be abandoned as the road became a lake and pavements began to disintegrate. Tourists, to their astonishment were stuck, with nowhere to go.

Meanwhile, the fire brigade and police officers worked to help those trapped in their vehicles.
