Rain which began in the early hours of New Year’s Day has caused further flooding and landslides in some areas. The eastern side of the country is worst affected.
Police have closed a number of road closures in Karpaz, Iskele and Bafra. The Ardahan Kantara and Kantara-Mersinlik roads have been closed because of rockfall.
A section of the road opposite the Yesilkoy petrol station on the Iskele-Karpaz road has collapsed. Traffic has been reduced to a single lane.
The Kalecik-Tuzluca junctions are also closed because of heavy rain. Traffic has been diverted through Kalecik village.
A section of the road leading to Boltasi village was also washed away.
