Pedestrian Phan Van Bay was hit by a car two days ago and seriously injured. The 34 year old was struck down in an unlit road by a car which then sped off.
Following police investigations, 42 year old Mehmet Erdogan was arrested at his house in the Haspolat neighbourhood last night. He will appear at Nicosia Crown Court later today.
Mr Bay’s condition has improved and he has been moved from intensive care at the Nicosia state hospital.
