A 29-year-old employee at a hotel in Kyrenia tragically lost his life after being electrocuted. An individual has been arrested in connection with the incident, Kibris Postasi reports.
Lahiru Priyadarshana Perera Kumbukage (29) was working at the hotel when the accident occurred. He was electrocuted while attempting to connect the lead of a jet wash machine—lacking a proper plug head—into an extension board.
According to the Police Press Office, the incident took place around 9pm last night.
The cause of Kumbukage’s death will be determined after an autopsy.
A 56-year-old man identified as M.Ş. has been taken into custody on charges of causing death through negligence and carelessness.
