Following the report on the death of a 19 year old man as he attempted to cross the Nicosia – Kyrenia Dual carriageway last week; it now appears that the young man was an illegal worker, working on the buildings at the Lavinium site.
This site and others nearby have been opened for access by the construction of illegal roads to allow trucks and the transport of building materials onto the sites.
In addition there are now many illegal workers on these sites.
Residents living nearby, often have to cross the dual carriageway at the risk of their lives, as there are no proper crossing points.
