ISIS claims responsibility for Istanbul nightclub gun attack


ISIS has claimed responsibility for the fatal shootings which took place in a popular Istanbul nightclub in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The attack claimed the lives of 39 revellers and wounded 65 others, Reuters reports.

In continuation of the blessed operations that Islamic State is conducting against the protector of the cross, Turkey, a heroic soldier of the caliphate struck one of the most famous nightclubs where the Christians celebrate their apostate holiday,” the jihadist group said in a statement, according to the agency.
