KAR fundraiser a success but more needed

The recent fundraiser for Kyrenia Animal Rescue was deemed a success. The event was held at Midsummer House in Catalkoy and raised a total of 1,349 TL for the charity.

Those present enjoyed a fabulous buffet and gamely parted with their money, taking part in a raffle which had some excellent prizes.
Margaret Ray, KAR’s Chairperson, thanked those who turned out to support this worthwhile cause. She also thanked Mount View House and its staff for staging the event.

Further events are as follows:

Sunday 21st October: A walk/treasure hunt  in the mountains near KAR Centre in Arapkoy. The walk starts at 11am and ends with a picnic. Please bring your own dog or alternatively you can borrow one from the Centre.

Sunday 4th November: Bonfire party at Lambousa in Lapta. KAR will be the beneficiary of proceeds. There will also be plenty of stalls.

Friday 9th November: Winter Sparkly Sale in the Church Hall – 11am to 2pm. Really good quality clothes for a bit of Christmas sparkle.

Volunteer drivers are needed to help with trips to the vets for one or two days a week (from 9am to 1pm). However, KAR say that volunteers for this job need to be fit as sometimes helping the vets with cats and dogs is required. Timely arrivals are essential as there are strict timetables to be adhered to.

Volunteers should be calm and friendly and chiefly be able to enjoy helping with the cats and dogs.

Anyone interested in helping should contact Julie (Centre Supervisor) on 0533 8631950 or the KAR Office on 0533 8694098
