KTIAK delegation holds contacts in Berlin

The Turkish Cypriot Businessmen’s Council (KTIAK) which is holding contacts in Berlin, met with Bernd Huttemann, Secretary General of the European Movement Germany.

The delegation is participating in the Germany Business Life Associations Federation (BUV) programme and is meeting with various organisations and officials.

At the meeting, Huttemann referred to the Cyprus negotiations. “The two sides in Cyprus, should never say never”, he said. He went on and said that both sides must do their share for a solution to be reached and added that just like the wall that divided Berlin had been removed, the wall that divides Nicosia must be removed as well.

Chairman of KTIAK, Ilker Zugurt stated that civil societies have a vital mission to help end the economic and political problems faced by the Turkish Cypriots for the last 50 years. He added that they find very helpful any assistance offered to them by foreign organisations to lift the embargoes. He also noted that his delegation will meet with Karl Heinz Brunner, Deputy with the Social Democratic Party of Germany.
