The Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects Association (KTMMOB) has written to the Prime Ministry requesting permission to investigate the causes of the breakdown of five generators.
In a letter signed by KTMMOB president Seran Aysal and sent to the Prime Minister, the association expressed concern over the deterioration of KIB-TEK, a vital public asset. They mentioned the possibility of “sabotage,” raised by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and emphasised the need to investigate this claim, hold those responsible accountable, and pursue legal action if necessary.
KTMMOB is asking for permission to investigate the technical aspects of KIB-TEK’s current issues, including production, transmission, distribution, equipment maintenance, fuel quality, infrastructure, contracts, and planning. They believe this investigation is crucial to properly assess the sabotage claim.
KTMMOB also stated that they will closely follow the investigation to ensure that the causes of the problems are uncovered, those responsible are identified and prosecuted, and appropriate penalties are enforced.
