Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk held a brief meeting yesterday, with UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alexander Downer.
Kucuk said that the Cyprus settlement talks would mark the beginning of a turning point in the history of the island and he hoped that the framework of agreement would emerge by the end of year.
The meeting, lasting about half an hour, took place in the presence of the EU Coordination Centre’s Director, Erhan Erçin.
After their meeting, neither party had much to say to the press. Prime Minister Kucuk is expected to issue a formal statement soon.
