Kyrenia sets up strays’ feeding stations

In order to care for stray animals unable to find food or water in the summer, Kyrenia Municipality has set up a number ‘feeding stations’ in the streets.

The animals will be able to access dry food and water so that they are able to feed in cleaner conditions. The feeding stations will be replenished by the local council daily.

Head of the Health Department Naile Soyel told the press that this was the first of its kind. Soyel said her department was working in cooperation with the Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR) in order to reduce the number of stray animals by spaying and rehabilitating them. She added that it was people who created the problem of stray animals.
