The Turkish Minister for Forestry and Water Veysel Eroglu will be in Cyprus today to attend a ceremony for the fitting of the section of the pipeline for the Water Project in the TRNC.
Eroglu will arrive at 1000 this morning to attend the ceremony which is scheduled to start at 10.30.
The Alakopru Dam in Mersin, including the 24 km land phase on the Turkish side, the 3.7 km land phase in North Cyprus, the dam in Gecitkoy and its 67 km water treatment facility, and the supply line in North Nicosia have all been completed.
The project itself is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The Turkish Minister will be calling on President Akinci this afternoon followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Kalyoncu.
