A large area of Famagusta was left without power early yesterday morning when lightening struck a substation at Geçitkale, leaving 28 villages without power.
Fire crews doused the fire caused by the lightening strike, however, the substation was left badly damaged.
Kib-Tek Call Centre Officer Tuluy Kalyoncu said the damage is very serious. And it is not possible to make a definite statement about when the power supply will resume.
