Buse expressed her excitement, stating, “I am living my dreams at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The atmosphere is wonderful, and I am thrilled to compete here tomorrow at 11:15 AM Turkey time. I hope to achieve great results and make my country proud“.
Buse set off on the road to the 2024 Paris Olympics last December with the support of the KKTC Athletics Federation, the Prime Ministry, and the Sports Department. Throughout the season, she took part in several key competitions, achieving notable successes.
She began the season strong in January by winning in Hirson, France, with a 1.85-metre jump. Buse then broke the Turkish indoor record with a 1.91-meter jump in Wuppertal, Germany, her personal best.
In February, she continued to flourish when she won in Amiens, France, with a 1.86-metre jump, and finished second in Udine, Italy, with a 1.85-metre jump. Buse also placed fourth in Istanbul and Madrid, and won in Huelva, Spain, with a 1.90-metre jump.
Diamond League and Balkan Championship
Buse reached fourth place in the Diamond League in Marrakesh, Morocco, with a 1.87-metre jump. She also won the Balkan Championship in Izmir with a personal best of 1.92 metres.
European Championship
In June, she made it to the finals in the European Championship in Rome, finishing 10th with a 1.86-metre jump. Buse then gained her Olympic qualification at the Turkish Championship in Izmir, despite an ankle injury, with a 1.91-metre jump. Her performances throughout the year ranked her 28th in the world, earning her a spot among the top 32 athletes in the Olympics.
