Lord Michael Brougham, Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords and member of the UK Parliament’s Friends of Turkish Cypriots Group met with TRNC Speaker of the House, Sibel Siber.
Lord Brougham thanked Dr Siber for receiving him and said that Siber’s contacts in the UK were very influential and productive, “Especially the speeches she gave at the House of Lords on Cyprus and Empowerment of Woman which were very influential,” he added.
Siber also thanked Lord Brougham for his visit and the House of Lord’s for the attention it had given to the Parliamentary delegation during Siber’s visits to the UK and added that these kind of contacts are important for the Turkish Cypriot community and should take place more often.
