Degirmenlik council has opened a new well. The well is 246 meters deep and very productive.
Mayor Osman Islal says that the water supply problems of all the surrounding villages will be covered by the new well. In addition they will be able to export water to villages outside the region.
The council is working with the Department of Geology and Mining to set up an additional well, this year.
The next step will be to install a pump with sufficient capacity to convey the water.
