President Nicos Anastasiades held a two-hour meeting with UN Secretary-General’s temporary Special Envoy to Cyprus Jane Holl Lute, on Sunday morning.
Media in the south said that Lute left the presidency after the meeting without making any comment.
According to South Cyprus government spokesman Prodromos Prodromou, who made a statement after the meeting, Anastasiades and Lute had a creative and productive meeting regarding the terms and conditions for restarting the Cyprus negotiations.
Mrs Lute will meeting with President Mustafa Akinci today and will then hold a further meeting with Anastasiades.
The South’s government spokesman stressed that it is best to avoid making too many comments during these critical meetings. He added that Lute has not presented any written text or documents at yesterday’s meeting.
