Until now male citizens of the TRNC had to show their military papers to passport control before they could leave the country. If they did not have the correct papers, they were not allowed to leave and this could upset travel arrangements.
However the army has now set up a system that allows the papers to be accessed electronically. This means that as of today, March 12th, papers are not required to be shown.
