Minister responds to concerns over gas emissions at AKSA

The Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources, Hakan Dincyurek has given assurances to the public with regards to emissions from the AKSA power plant, adding that they are not harmful to human health.

Minister Dincyurek visited the AKSA power plant at Kalecik today for inspections and was informed about the gas measures from the chimneys. After the inspection, Dincyurek said that the filter system on the chimney was working at 100% capacity. As it was the first filter system, the fact that 8 different generators were flued to one chimney, it gave the appearance of smoke being emitted.

Dincyurek said the smoke was in fact, steam and not dangerous gases.
