Anyone thinking of visiting the Troodos mountains today will need to use snow chains on their tyres or vehicles with four-wheel drive.
All roads in Nicosia and Limassol leading to Troodos are closed to vehicles unless they have snow chains or four-wheel drive. Heavy snowfall has led to vehicles without snow chains on their tyres being stranded, according to Cyprus News Agency (CNA).
Police have been trying to help people trapped in their cars on the road to Troodos-Platres this morning.
The police also said that Platania-Karvounas, Kakopetria-Prodromos, Pedoulas-Prodromos, Prodromos-Troodos, Prodromos-Trooditissa, Pedoulas-Pinewoood-Kakopetria, Pedoulas-Kykkos, Prodromos-Lemythou roads are snow-bound.
