Murdered for 560 TL

On Wednesday, Adnan Oz was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for murder, nearly a year after the murder of taxi driver Hasan Kasikcier. His accomplice, Fatih Yilmaz, received a two year sentence for hiding evidence of the crime at the request of Mr Oz.

It is reported that the murder stemmed from arguments over an unpaid debt of 560 TL. The 40yr old victim was stabbed 24 times, dragged to a nearby field and then battered to death with a stone. Summing up, the judge at the Kyrenia Criminal Court said that the sentence had been imposed as a fitting punishment and a deterrent.
